Bylaws

Section 1. Membership. A person desiring membership in this Association shall submit an official application form to the Executive Secretary. Upon receipt of the application the Executive Secretary shall submit it to the Executive Committee for approval at their next regular meeting. Those new members accepted during the year will be reported to the Association at the annual business meeting. Dues will not be charged for new members until the annual member roll call mailing to members.  Gift memberships may be given by any member on behalf of any qualified person. It is understood that the donor of a gift membership believes the person qualifies for membership and thereby recommends his/her acceptance. The donor member's recommendation shall be considered sufficient reference in support of the new member's application.

Section 2. Fiscal Year. The fiscal year of the Association shall begin on the first of June and terminate on the 31st day of May, the following year.

Section 3. Elections. The election of officers shall take place by mail ballot in odd‑numbered years prior to the annual meeting. After soliciting the membership through the newsletter for preliminary nominations, a three member nominating committee consisting of the most recent past presidents of the Association shall place one consenting nominee for each vacancy before the Association for a mail vote. Write in votes are permitted when the mail balloting is conducted.

Section 4. Remuneration. Officers of the Association shall serve without pay; expenses incurred in carrying out the business of the Association may be reimbursed. The Executive Secretary may be a salaried employee, as determined by the Executive Committee; expenses incurred in carrying out the duties of the Executive Secretary of the Association shall be reimbursed. Additional salaried administrative services may be purchased by the Executive Committee subject to the approval of the Association at the annual business meeting.

Section 5. Executive Committee. The Executive Committee shall consist of the elected officers and the Executive Secretary as an ex officio member.

Section 6. Annual meeting. Annually, before September 1 of each year, the Association shall hold an annual meeting consisting of the annual business meeting; scientific, inspirational, or devotional programs; and recreational and social functions in keeping with the objectives of the Association. The president of the Association shall preside at the annual business meeting. All affairs of the Association and actions of the Executive Committee during the previous twelve months shall be reviewed and are subject to approval or disapproval.

Section 7. Amendment, The Executive Committee shall have the power to amend the bylaws of this Association, by vote of a majority of all of the Executive Committee members, at any regular or special meeting of the Executive Committee, subject to review at the annual business meeting.
The Association members, by the affirmative vote of two thirds of those members present and entitled to vote, may make, alter, or amend the bylaws without notice at any regular meeting, or any special meeting, if notice thereof be contained in the notice of such special meeting.
